The September 21, 2009, issue of Sports Illustrated, featured a last-page commentary that reviewed the Aptos Amateur Fantasy Football League inaugural draft. What made this draft special, and worthy of an SI back page, wasn't the NFL players selected, or the celebrity of the League owners.
No it was the fact that the League owners ranged in age from 7 to 9 years old. The draft was held in Cooper Jeffrey's living room, and his mom served Rice Krispie treats.
Cooper watched his dad play fantasy football for years and thought it would be cool to start a league with his friends.
So they assembled at the Cooper's and began the historic draft, which featured legendary picks such as Tom Brandy, Kelley Winslow, and Marc Blunger.
